What’s aluminium hung window

Aluminium hung window is a aluminium framed window that is opened by pulling up and down. Because it is mainly popular in North America, it is also called American hung window,or vertical sliding window. In the international system, windows derived from European casement, sliding and other window types are collectively referred to as European windows. American sliding windows originated in the United States and are the inheritance, improvement and development of European doors and windows.

A hung window consists of a fixed window frame and inner and outer sashes that can slide up and down, and accessories. It can be classified into single hung window and double hung window. Single hung window means that the upper sash is directly fixed to the window frame, and only the lower sash can be pulled up and down. A single sliding window can achieve better airtightness and watertightness. A double hung window means that both the upper and lower sashes can be pulled up and down, and the choice of ventilation parts is more flexible, and disassembly is easier, which is convenient for maintenance.

1. Safe and space-saving.

From a safety perspective, if you use awning windows or outward casement windows at home for a long time, you will always feel that they will fall down. 3. Good sealing performance .

Compared with sliding windows, the sealing performance of hung windows is better, it’s only second only to fixed windows and casement windows. The working principle of sliding windows is that the pulley at the bottom of the window slides back and forth on the slide rail of the window frame. Because of the smoothness of pushing and pulling, a gap needs to be left between the pulley and the slide rail, so it is not completely sealed.

 The sash in hung window is wrapped in the window frame and runs vertically up and down. Through multiple sealing of high-quality siliconized wool strips, the sash frame fits tightly around, and the sealing performance is significantly better than that of the sliding window.

4. Flexible ventilation

The hung windows can be suspended at will. If the top is fixed, the bottom can be used for ventilation; if the bottom is fixed, the top can slide. It is very flexible and can be freely selected according to different spaces.

1. PVC windows have low material strength and rigidity. Although they are reinforced by adding lining steel, their wind pressure resistance and watertightness are about two levels lower than those of aluminum hung windows.
2. ThePVC windows frame and sash is about 10% larger than that of aluminum windows. The field of vision and decorative effects are poor, which is not conducive to energy saving and consumption reduction of building lighting.
3. PVCwindows are easily deformed by heat and become brittle when cold. They have poor size and shape stability, and often need to use the rigidity of glass to prevent window frame deformation.

In order to prevent window frame deformation, windows fabricators should install glass in the factory before delivering windows to prevent deformation during storage, transportation, and installation.

1. PVC materials are always white color,which is not friendly to some customers that want to match the windows color with the building colors.
